At MISC, we believe that figure skating is a sport that can be enjoyed by skaters of all ages, and at all levels of participation. As a Club, we are proud to support and involve our skaters at all levels, from beginner Aussie Skaters up to championship level.
The Club is well represented at Australian and international Figure Skating Championships by individual skaters, pairs and synchronised teams. We foster good sportsmanship and encourage friendship among skaters and parents. Our club has led the way in supporting its championship skaters by offering rebates to eligible members competing at State, National and International levels.
We aim to hold 6 competitions each year at our home rink: four general competitions, our Club Championships and our Premier Artistic Competition, MIRA.
Aussie Skate Program
The Aussie Skate Program is a national learn-to-skate program, offered by the host ice rinks. Macquarie's Aussie Skate Program is recommended for anyone wishing to learn basic skating skills. The Aussie Skate program is designed to teach the basic skills of figure skating through group lessons and tests, and provides an access point to entry-level competition.
